Amid a conservative rebellion, House Republicans canceled a vote on legislation at the last minute Wednesday that would have restructured Obamacare and given the GOP a messaging line of attack against Democrats.
Shortly before the vote was scheduled to happen, House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) office informed reporters that members were told it had been cancelled.
Conservative groups were split on the legislation — some supported it because they said it would impede Obamacare implementation, but others, like Heritage Action and Club For Growth, strongly opposed it.
