Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, on Sunday said that he did not support amnesty for National Security agency leaker Edward Snowden, especially after Snowden offered Brazil help investigating NSA spying.
“We call that treason,” Rogers said on ABC’s”This Week” about Snowden’s actions. “He has traded something of value for his own personal gain that jeopardizes the national security of the United States.”
Rogers said he would pay Snowden’s way home.
“I do think he should come home – I’d personally pay for his plane ticket – and be held accountable for his actions,” he said. “He should come back. He didn’t use any of the whistleblower protection avenues laid out before him.”
