A Washington, D.C. reporter announced on Twitter Wednesday that he was punched in the face by a comedian.
Josh Rogin, a senior correspondent for Newsweek Daily Beast, first took to Twitter to pan the perforrmance by Dan Nainan, the headliner at DC Improv’s Funniest Celebrity In Washington DC Contest.

Rogin recounted the incident in an interview with US News & World Report’s Washington Whispers.
“Dan Nainan comes over to me and says, ‘Are you Josh Rogin,’ and I said yes and then he punched me in the jaw, then he pushed me, then he walked away and about 10 seconds later he came over and punched me again,” Rogin said.
Police confirmed to The Washington Post that they made an arrest at the scene for simple assault, but did not divulge the name of the suspect.
