AFP reports that Yemeni forces led air strikes that have killed thirty suspected al-Qaeda militants in southern Yemen and wounding many more. A Yemeni Red Cross worked was also killed en route to negotiating the release of a colleague.
The attacks come after a Yemeni security official announced that a proposed attack on embassies in Sanaa had been foiled, and that three suspects “armed with weapons, explosives and maps showing the (embassy) locations” had been detained.
