Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder announced will endorse a candidate before his state’s primary on February 28. Michigan was always thought to be firm Romney territory, but new polls out today show Santorum leading in the state. Snyder, a first term governor, has a low approval rating and has for most of his time in office, though it has recently ticked up to 35% from a 25% low. Thus far, however, the endorsements of Nikki Haley in South Carolina and former Gov. Tim Pawlenty in Minnesota didn’t put Romney over the edge, so it’s unclear how or if a Snyder endorsement will affect the race.
