Rep. John Mica (R-FL) brought a “faux” joint to a congressional hearing Friday about the Obama administration’s marijuana policy.

Mica — the chairman of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Government Operations — said his staff rolled it because they have “more experience” in doing so.

He was discussing penalties for marijuana possession when he revealed his prop. “I have this joint here,” he said. “This is — okay, don’t get too excited, some of you. This is not a real one. It’s a mock one.”

Seconds later Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) jumped in to ask, “Did you roll that?”

Mica replied with a smile, “No, I had staff do it. They have more experience.”

The room burst into laughter.

  2. Looks like a pretty shitty rolling job if you ask me.

And BTW, was he on the warpath or was he actually supporting the idea that someone doesn’t deserve 5 years in federal prison for smoking a joint on the corner?

  3. His position was against whatever the position of Obama is. That’s the definition of the job of a Republican in Congress.

  4. Is there still weed you could smoke a whole joint of? I doubt it. That delivery system is a bit dated for today’s hyper-potent shit.

Perhaps a news website should mention that in the story?
