Dems Are Calling For Santos To Not Be Seated In The Next Congress. Can That Happen?

Since the New York Times came out with their explosive report claiming Rep.-elect George Santos (R-NY) fabricated the majority of his background and credentials, some lawmakers have been calling for action to be taken to stop the congressman-elect from taking office in the new year.

Following the report, Santos admitted to “embellishing” parts of his resume — including acknowledging he never “worked directly” for Goldman Sachs or Citigroup and saying he never claimed to be Jewish, just “Jew-ish.”

But despite the clear admission of his lies, Congress’ ability to stop him from taking office is limited.

Santos Once Boasted About Being ‘Head Guy For New York City’ At Alleged Ponzi Scheme

In a 2020 interview with the Metropolitan Republican Club, Rep.-elect George Santos (R-NY) provided details about his employment at an alleged “ponzi scheme.” The comments, which have received little notice, shed light on a period that is central to questions about Santos’ purported personal fortune. The interview also includes other examples of Santos’ shifting narrative and questionable backstory.

Golden Dukes: It’s Time To Cheers 2022’s Forgotten Heroes

As the Oscars holds its in memoriam each year, so too will the Golden Dukes this year, complete with a bit of dark spin. We would never dance on anyone’s actual graves (probably), but their political graves are fair game.

2022 gifted us a lot of losers who we can now celebrate as winners — in their unscrupulous, unhinged, and ultimately unelectable glory. Introducing the Golden Dukes Forgotten Heroes, an in memoriam to all of our favorite scoundrels who never quite made it to elected office. The 2022 midterms, in all its Big Lie-fueled insanity, gifted us hundreds of options for whacky candidates we will miss the most. Some may run for office again. But in our hearts they’ll always be losers.

George Santos’ New Explanation For His Wealth Includes Another Change To His Backstory

George Santos, the Republican who fabricated much of his background on his way to winning a congressional seat in New York last month, has finally offered an explanation for the sudden influx of wealth that helped him fund his campaign. In an interview with Semafor that was published on Wednesday morning, Santos again admitted to “embellishing” his resume. Santos attributed the vast increase in income he disclosed during his 2022 race to what he described as the “capital introduction” business. That’s a markedly different story than he has told in the past.

Trump Didn’t Know His Daily Schedules Were Public Until His Last Month As POTUS

The select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack dropped 17 more transcripts of witness testimony Tuesday afternoon and there was a hidden gem tucked into one of the 168 pages of depositions.

During his lengthy testimony before the committee, Judd Deere, the White House deputy press secretary for the Trump administration, revealed former President Donald Trump did not know his schedule was public until a few weeks before the end of his presidency.

The far-right domestic terrorist leader who was the lead organizer of the plot to kidnap and assassinate Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has been sentenced to just under 20 years in prison for his role in the plot. Barry Croft, of Delaware, who said he wanted to foment a civil war in the US was, according to the government, the “spiritual leader” of the group, much “some sheikh in ISIS might be.”

Filling In For Tucker Carlson, Tulsi Gabbard Calls Santos A Fraud To His Face

Former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who now identifies as an independent, berated Congressman-elect George Santos (R-NY) over what he describes as “embellishments” in his resume.

Gabbard, who was filling in for Fox News host Tucker Carlson, interviewed Santos on Tuesday night, calling him out on his lies and asking him directly, “Do you have no shame?”

Where’s The Money From?

On Monday George Santos gave an interview to the New York news outlet City and State. It’s a softball interview in which Santos continues to blame “elites” at The New York Times for making him lie about his resume. He basically minimizes all his lies to nothing. He was someone who “put a little bit of fluff in their resume” and dared any member of Congress to go through the scrutiny he has and come out any better. As you can see, its just a speedball of deflection and lying. But he’s a pathological liar who won’t stop lying. That’s kind of old news. As I noted yesterday, the real story is the list of potential criminal issues which may and I’m increasing thinking will bring him down. The big one is the money. Where did he get the money? Since he won’t shut up, we’re getting more information from him, all of it preposterous. Let’s run through where things stand.
