Denver Police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez said in a press conference a disturbance that involved shots fired and at least one stabbing broke out around 12:48 p.m. local time at the Colorado Motorcycle Expo, which was being held this weekend at the Coliseum.
She said one person was dead, but would not confirm how many other victims were involved. Police are not calling the event a “mass casualty” incident at this time, she said.
Lopez also said no suspect in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
