President Donald Trump boasted that “my generals” are from “central casting” as he recognized two of his cabinet nominees shortly after being sworn in.
Trump recognized Gens. James Mattis and John Kelly during brief remarks at the Capitol during the traditional luncheon for the new president, members of Congress and other dignitaries.
“I see my generals, generals that are going to keep us so safe. They’re going to have a lot of problems, the other side,” Trump said.
“These are central casting, if I’m doing a movie, I pick you General,” appearing to refer to Mattis, who is his nominee to be defense secretary and was expected to be confirmed by the Senate later Friday.
Trump also mentioned Kelly, his nominee to lead the Department of Homeland Security.
So far . So good.
