Sen. Menendez: Granting Snowden Asylum Is ‘Taking A Step Against The US’

Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) said Sunday that whatever countries are granting NSA leaker Edward Snowden asylum are “making a very clear statement” and “taking a step against the United States.”

Nicaragua and Venezuela offered Snowden asylum over the weekend.

“I’m not surprised by the countries that offering him asylum,” Menendez, who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said on “Meet The Press.” “Any such acceptance of Snowden to any country…is going to put them directly against the United States, and they need to know that.”
