Sarah Palin on Tuesday night lauded Donald Trump’s immigration plan during an appearance on Fox News, arguing that ending birthright citizenship would help keep families together.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said that those who oppose ending birthright citizenship will portray Trump’s plan as “heartless,” but Palin said “nothing could be further from the truth.” She argued that the children of those who are not citizens should be deported from the U.S. along with their parents.

“A family is a unit and if their parents broke the law and if they’re here illegally, well, they need to get back in line,” Palin told Fox’s Greta Van Susteren. “The family sticks together and the kids have to get in line with their mom and dad.”

Palin also praised Trump’s proposal to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

“The immigration plan of his — especially the wall, that’s common sense — it’s a real shot in the arm to constitutionalists and conservatives who want America to be put first by our leaders,” she said.

The former governor stopped short of endorsing Trump’s presidential bid, but boosted him as an excellent presidential candidate.

“He is the best thing to happen to the permanent political class since the beauty of the Tea Party genuine movement rose up and shined light on crony capitalism and then pulled the rug right out from under status quo politicians who just kind of embrace that permanent political class,” she said.

Palin has praised Trump since he first entered the race, and the real estate mogul has said he was open to considering Palin for a cabinet position if elected president.

  1. I had several witty remarks to make concerning Sarah’s ignorant opinion on anything at all but they’ve already been done here a million times.

  2. They are still needed. This woman, as lazy, mean-spirited and shallow as she is, nevertheless was a key impetus in the ginned-up rage of the Tea Party which gave us five years (and counting) of a paralyzed Congress.

The mentally and morally challenged can often do as much damage as the criminally brilliant.

  3. Oh, Sarah…when you’re willing to go sun burn your ass picking strawberries, you can back such a plan, but until then, all Trump is going to do is starve Americans while raising your taxes to the point of your own poverty to pay for his plan.

  4. And this is newsworthy because…?

  5. And Sarah’s bonafides considering common sense are … where ? ? ?
