Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said Wednesday during the CNN town hall in Hew Hampshire that he wants Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to win the GOP nomination.
Sanders criticized Trump’s claim that climate change was a hoax created by the Chinese and mockingly called him a “well-known scientist.” Sanders also tore apart Trump’s proposed tax plan. But, he said he’d like to run against the real estate mogul.
“I want Trump to win the Republican nomination,” Sanders said. “And I would love the opportunity to run against him. I think we would win by a lot.”
Trump responded on Twitter:
Sanders says he wants to run against me because he doesn’t want to run against me. He would be so easy to beat!

Who wouldn’t want to run against Trump? What I really want to say is the Axe ad makes me nostalgic for the psoriasis thing. Any chance of getting that back? We’re sorry if we didn’t appreciate it at the time.
Well, its more than obvious to me that any of the GOP candidates would prefer to run against Sanders. And saying that he’d prefer to run against Trump is like gifting a campaign slogan to Ted Cruz.
I’d win against Trump. Come on, Bernie. Compare yourself against the big boys in the contest.
This is just more recklessness to me. Yes, I understand the schadenfreude and the comedy that would ensue from a Trump nomination, but do we seriously want to put that man within a scandal, a heart attack, or whatever from the presidency?
I agree with Sanders’s ends, but just not with his means.
Why? Christie is way down in the polls.
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
