An off-duty Secret Service agent in Vice President Mike Pence’s detail was suspended after being arrested and charged with solicitation following his meeting with a prostitute in a Maryland hotel, CNN reported Thursday, citing multiple unnamed law enforcement sources.

One unnamed CNN source said that the arrest, which reportedly occurred late last week, was not the result of a sting operation. Rather, according to the network, police responded to a call from the hotel’s manager, who noted suspicious activity in one of the rooms.

An unnamed Secret Service spokesperson confirmed the suspension to the Associated Press.

A Secret Service spokesperson told the Washington Post that the agency “is aware of an alleged incident involving an off-duty Secret Service employee.”

The Secret Service has landed several unfortunate headlines recently. On March 10, an intruder was arrested 16 minutes after he scaled the White House fence.

On March 16, news broke that two Secret Service agents were reportedly under investigation for their taking selfies with a sleeping Donald Trump III, the President’s grandson. The next day, a laptop with sensitive information was stolen from a Secret Service agent’s car in Brooklyn, New York.
