Rep. Mike Thompson: There’s No Reason To Have 30 Shells In A Gun

Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), who will lead a congressional task force on gun violence, said Wednesday there is no reason gun owners should have a magazine that holds 30 shells. 

“Why do you need 30 shells in a magazine?” Thompson said. “It’s an assault magazine. That’s all it can be. Call it what it is, an assault magazine. We don’t have any reason to assault anyone in our communities, in our neighborhoods.”
