House Majority Whip Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who represents the California district where a school shooting took place on Thursday, took to Twitter to offer prayers for the victims, saying he was “deeply saddened and troubled” by the news.

At least two people were shot Thursday at Taft High School in Taft, Calif. One suspect is reportedly in custody.
