A chilling television ad released this week will mark the first anniversary of the school massacre in Newtown, Conn., with footage of a gunman entering a school as people observe a moment of silence.

The ad, released by the gun control group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America in conjunction with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns, is part of a “No More Silence” campaign to mark the anniversary.

“On Dec.14, we’ll have a moment of silence for Newtown, but with 26 more school shootings since that day, ask yourself, is silence what America needs right now?” a narrator asks in the ad.

The “No More Silence” campaign that will also include rallies hosted by Moms Demand Action around the country on Dec. 14, the anniversary of the Newtown shooting.
