Rick Perry’s campaign has responded to the news that Dr. Robert Jeffress, a Dallas pastor and leader of the Southern Baptist Convention, has called Mormonism a “cult.”
“He does not believe it’s a cult,” Perry spokesman Mark Miner says. But the campaign won’t dispute the pastor, saying “the governor doesn’t judge what is in the heart and soul of others.”
