TAMPA, Fla. — Ron Paul walked onto the convention floor about 25 minutes before the first real day of the GOP convention here was set to get under way. His supporters cheered and started chanting his name. That brought out much weaker counter cheers from Mitt Romney supporters, who started chanting “Rom-ney” over the Paul chants.

Paul will not be speaking at the convention, saying recently that he couldn’t take the podium at Romney’s convention because “I don’t fully endorse him for president.”
