Oregon police identified the shooter in a shooting incident at Reynolds High School in Portland, Oregon.

Troutdale, Oregon Police Chief Scott Anderson identified him as 15-year-old Jared Michael Padgett, a freshman at the school.

Police also said that Padgett carried an AR-15, a handgun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Padgett, according to Anderson, came to school carrying a guitar case and duffel bag. He came to school via the bus.

Two people died, including Padgett, in the shooting, according to police.

“Given the weapons and the amount of ammunition that the shooter was carrying the early notification and the initial law enforcement response were critical,” Anderson said.
