It turns out that aside from cutting the line last week at Austin’s famed Franklin Barbecue, President Barack Obama also fist bumped a gay employee who urged him to act on LGBT rights.

Cameras caught Obama fist bumping a cashier as he paid for his order Thursday at the barbecue joint. Daniel Rugg Webb, the standup comedian and part-time Franklin Barbecue employee, later told the Austin Chronicle that the photo was the result of his decision to take a stand on gay rights when the President came through his line.

Here’s how the interaction went down, according to the Chronicle:

As the president approached, Webb threw his hand down and slapped the counter dramatically. “Equal rights for gay people!”

“Are you gay?” the president asked.

“Only when I have sex.”

“That’s when he laughed and said, ‘Bump me,'” Webb says.

Webb contrasted the President’s response to how he thinks the interaction would have played out if he tried it with, say, Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R).

“If Rick Perry would’ve walked in, I would have lost my job. I would’ve taken that old queen to town,” Webb told the Chronicle.
