A National Rifle Association survey released Thursday found that an overwhelming majority of the group’s members support keeping guns away from people who suffer from mental illness. The survey of 1,000 NRA members also found that 89 percent oppose banning semi-automatic guns and 93 percent oppose legislation requiring gun owners to register with the federal government.
