A New Hampshire gun shop owner who gifted Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump a custom gun this week brought a replica of it to his interview Wednesday with CNN, where he proceeded to cradle the AR-15 rifle for the duration of the nearly five-minute conversation.
Mark Limoges kicked off the interview with what amounted to a mini advertisement, touting the gun’s unique inscriptions.
Limoges said he gave Trump the gun to commemorate his visit to his New Hampshire town of Claremont
“We’ve been big Trump supporters,” he said. “And wanted to do something to commemorate Mr. Trump’s visit.”
Limoges also described how Secret Service which has been protecting Trump reacted to the gun shop owner’s gift.
“We actually wanted Mr. Trump to come to our gun store, which the Secret Service was not real thrilled about,” he said. “A Secret Service agent came to the store, took the gun. We removed the bolt out of it. They took possession of the weapon and then presented it to us before we went into the room to present it to Mr. Trump.”
