A man was detained on Saturday afternoon after he jumped over an outer barrier surrounding the White House.

The man did not make it to the White House fence. He was not armed and was carrying a document he wished to deliver to the White House, CNN reported, citing an unnamed law enforcement source.

The Secret Service said in a statement that he man jumped over the barrier a little before 1 p.m. on Saturday and was quickly detained.

The incident comes after an intruder carrying mace made it over the White House fence last week and remained on the grounds for about 15 minutes before being apprehended.
