Self-styled conservative bad boy Greg Gutfeld said on Wednesday that when he saw the video of a white cop shooting unarmed black South Carolina man Walter Scott, he “didn’t see a black man killed by a white cop.”

“Well, I think the ‘no justice, no peace’ — if you follow that, there should be peace, because right now what you’re seeing is justice,” Gutfeld said on the Fox News show “The Five.”

Gutfeld said the “great thing” about the video appearing to show Scott’s killing by Patrolman Michael Thomas Slager was that the incident was available for everyone to see.

Then, he offered his own interpretation.

“I didn’t see a black man killed by a white cop,” Gutfeld said. “I saw a man shoot another man in the back.”

While Gutfeld spoke, the Fox News chyron on the screen read: “Video Shows White Police Officer Shooting Black Man In The Back.”

Gutfeld echoed Stephen Colbert’s conservative persona, who would regularly insist that he “doesn’t see race.”

“I don’t see color,” Colbert remarked in one episode. “People tell me I’m white and I believe them because police officers call me sir.”
