Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton laughed when CNN town hall moderator Anderson Cooper asked if she still believed in a vast right-wing conspiracy, and countered that it was out in the open and better-funded than it was in the 1990s.
She laughed at Cooper’s question and shot back, “Don’t you?”
“Yeah. It’s gotten even better funded. You know, they brought in some new multi-billionaires to pump the money in,” Clinton said.
Clinton said these insiders pay people off to do their bidding, but that it wasn’t a “conspiracy” as Anderson suggested since they were doing so out in the open.
“Look, at this point it’s probably not correct to say it’s a conspiracy because it’s out in the open,” Clinton said. “There is no doubt about what they’re doing and who the players are and what they’re trying to achieve and they’re shopping among the Republican candidates to figure out who among them will most likely do their bidding. So just know what we’re up against because it’s real and we’re going to beat it. But it’s going to take everybody working together.”
She is right about that one.
And vicious right wing smears are infecting our party too. I read them on TPM everyday parroted by democratic commenters.
She’s absolutely right.
Glad to see I’m not the only person who’s been noticing that.
Nailed it.
