A new animated film “Fordtacular Spectacular!” produced by Toronto animation company Cuppa Coffee Studios pokes fun at Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s many gaffes and his ability to bounce back with a new folly.

“It’s [about] a guy who never ceases to sort of amaze us all,” Adam Shaheen, president and executive producer of Cuppa Coffee Studios, told the Global News. “He keeps coming back and keeps surviving — and keeps wanting to survive. It’s a short film about the mayor finding himself in all sorts of weird and really cartoony predicaments but always surviving.”

Shaheen said he wanted to tell the “circus story” of Rob Ford, who has refused to resign as mayor of Toronto after admitting to smoking crack cocaine.

“We decided not to focus on the negative side because it’s sort of ‘been there, done that’ by other people,” he said. “We’ve stayed away from the obvious sound bites and stuff that have been well-recorded. We wanted to stay away from ‘the fat guy who reportedly smoked crack’ but really tell the circus story.”
