To mark the Fourth of July in their own nerdy way, the folks over at PopSci used the Phantom v641, an ultra-high speed video camera, to record all kinds of explosions.

The camera is made by Vision Research, a company that makes them for use by industry, academic researchers, and commercial broadcasting applications.
