The Incredible Shrinking Herman Cain

Herman Cain

We told you already that Herman Cain’s presidential campaign took a turn to the irrelevant last week. Now we’ve got hard evidence of what that looks like.

The time tallies from last nights debate, per Politico:

Gingrich: 11 questions; 11 min. 38 sec
Romney: 12 questions; 11 min. 3 sec
Perry: 11 questions, 10 min. 32 sec
Paul: 9 questions, 9 min. 40 sec
Bachmann: 9 questions; 8 min 43 sec
Huntsman: 8 questions; 8 min. 14 sec
Santorum: 6 questions; 7 min. 41 sec
Cain: 7 questions, 5 min. 19 sec.

If it seems like just days ago Cain was riding high as the frontrunner, that’s because it was. Now the guy gets less screen time than Rick Santorum.

Just to rub it in, TPM’s Igor Bobic counted the number of words the three most recent front-runners uttered last night. That came out as follows:

Romney: 2,621. Gingrich 2,316. Cain 925.
