Stephen Colbert on Tuesday responded to critics accusing him of “coordinating” with his recently handed-off super PAC. Since giving Jon Stewart control of his super PAC, Colbert is even questioning the influence of money in politics.
A new Colbert super PAC ad that calls on voters to support former candidate Herman Cain premiered hours before Colbert taped an episode of The Colbert Report asking for viewers to support Cain. How could that be if the two are not “coordinating?”
“It could be, Jon and I have developed some kind of psychic twin connection,” Colbert said. “One feels what the other is experiencing. Like Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.”
Colbert made clear he is Princess Leia in this scenario.
