Not a Good Year For Party-Switchers

Wow, not a good cycle to switch parties. Didn’t work out for Arlen Specter. And it’s not looking good for Parker Griffith, the right-leaning Alabama Dem who switched parties to the GOP. With a little over 50% of the vote in, Griffith has 33% of the vote to 51% for Mo Brooks.

So it’s not looking too good.

Now, remember, Alabama’s a run-off state. So Brooks has to get over 50% to end it tonight. But it looks like he loses tonight or loses the run-off. A GOP source tells our Eric Kleefeld: “Rural counties will come in strong for Parker…may be enough to keep Mo under 50…but either way, Mo is your GOP nominee, whether it’s tonight or in 6 weeks.”
