TPM Reader HW says the more Michele Bachmann the better:
Your point is well-taken about CNN airing Michelle Bachman’s independent State of the Union, treatment that no splinter wing of any party has gotten before. But don’t you think from the perspective of Democrats, a second Michelle Bachmann response is a wonderful thing, especially with CNN’s news people taking the liberty to call her an ignoramus?
Isn’t it great that the Republican Party is being forced to share their brand between their faux-serious, semi-coherent golden boy (Paul Ryan) and a completely unserious, incoherent Bachmann?
Moreover, isn’t that a truer depiction of what’s going on within the ranks of the Republican Party than the image they’d prefer to project around Paul Ryan and only Paul Ryan? As a Democrat, I genuinely couldn’t be happier that CNN is airing the Michelle Bachmann response, I think Democrats should call out the other networks for not doing it.
