We’ve got a potentially big news day tomorrow – mostly focusing on congressional testimony. At 9:30 AM and 10 AM Attorney General Bill Barr and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin will appear before the the respective subcommittees of the House Appropriations subcommittee. They both have a lot we’d like answered on the Mueller Report and President Trump’s taxes. But it’s possible they’ll punt, arguing that that’s not what these hearings are about. These are appropriations hearing, budgeting and management of their departments.

Meanwhile the House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing about White Nationalism. That’s also at 10 AM.

The witness list for the White Nationalism hearing is as follows.

Ms. Eileen Hershenov
Senior Vice President Policy
Anti-Defamation League
Washington, DC

Ms. Eva Paterson
President
Equal Justice Society
Oakland, CA

Ms. Kristen Clarke
President and Executive Director
National Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law
Washington, DC

Dr. Mohammad Abu-Salha
Clayton, NC

Mr. Neil Potts
Public Policy Director
Facebook Inc.
Washington, DC

Ms. Alexandria Walden
Public Policy & Government Relations Counsel,
Free Expression & Human Rights
Google, LLC
Washington, DC

Mr. Mort A. Klein
President
Zionist Organization of America
Merion, PA

Ms. Candace Owens
Turning Point USA
Washington, DC

The only invitees for the GOP are the last two: Klein and Owens. Klein is the head of what is now one of the most extreme and GOP aligned Zionist organizations in the country. I cannot imagine he’s not there basically to talk about Ilhan Omar. Candace Owens is a young African-American activist who is part of the youth-oriented Trumpite Turning Point USA. One would think her main experience would be working with White Nationalists and their enablers. You probably most recently saw her in the news when she said Hitler was doing fine before he took the Nazism thing outside Germany’s borders. She is likely there because before she became an activist she was herself the victim of a hate crime.
