A public defender in Nevada was handcuffed after a judge accused her of interrupting him while she argued on behalf of her client, TPM’s Katherine Krueger wrote. In a tense exchange, Las Vegas Judge Conrad Hafen told Zohra Bakhtary, a deputy public defender, to “be quiet” as she made the case for keeping her client, who was appearing on theft charges, out of jail. Her client was ordered to spend six months in jail. Hafen later asked for Bakhtary to be released, saying, “I think she’s learned a lesson.”

Josh Marshall: “Warren is off-the-cuff, free-wheeling and direct in all the ways Clinton is cautious and rehearsed. But it is a reinforcing rather than an invidious contrast and likely helps bring to the surface Hillary’s progressive background that has been buried by decades at the pinnacle of Democratic party politics and years as the punching bag of the left of the party which feels excluded by the seemingly endless Clinton ascendency. It may sound crazy to attach so much to her recent Twitter contretemps with Donald Trump. But the tone, rhythm and style are exactly what the Democrats need to knock Trump down and bring out his toxic mix of personal insecurity and emotional instability. “

From a TPM Prime member: “Standing across from each other are two theatres at Lincoln Center. One, first known as Philharmonic Hall, was renamed Avery Fisher Hall in recognition of his major contribution to the renovation of the hall and its acoustics. The other was named the New York State Theatre, was so named because of the contribution of the State of New York to its construction. One has been the home of the the NY Philharmonic and other concerts. The other was the home of the NY City Opera and a series of musical Revivals produced by Richard Rodgers. It remains the home NY City Ballet. The now named David Koch Theatre received 100 million dollars from David Koch and was renamed in his hone. David Geffen did the sane for Avery Fisher Hall and it was renamed for him. HERE’S THE RUB. The Avery Fisher Family received 14 million dollars for relinquishing their naming rights. The tax payers of NY State got NOTHING AT ALL FROM THAT KOCH. Doesn’t that tell you everything you need to know about the Koch Brothers. Isn’t it time to demand and demonstrate for him to repay the people of the state of NY?”
