The Progressive Change Campaign Committee is urging a trio of Democratic House members to cut ties with the Third Way think tank.

The PCCC asked its supporters in the congressional districts of Reps. Jared Polis (CO), Joe Crowley (NY) and Jim Clyburn (SC) to call their representatives and “demand they end their affiliation with Third Way.”

The call, made by PCCC in an email on Thursday, follows PCCC  urging Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D-PA) to step down as an honorary co-chairwoman at Third Way after the think tank’s president and senior vice president for policy wrote an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal strongly criticizing the economic populism of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and New York Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio (D).

Schwartz did not step down but she did denounce the op-ed.

Read PCCC’s latest email to supporters below:

This week, a corporate front group attacked Elizabeth Warren.

In the Wall Street Journal, they wrote that Warren’s “economic populism [is] disastrous for Democrats,” including the growing consensus that we must expand — not cut — Social Security benefits.

Calls from local constituents got one of the group’s Co-Chairs — U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz — to admit Third Way’s attack on Warren was “outrageous.”

Shockingly, Rep. Jared Polis is a Co-Chair of this corporate group that’s attacking Elizabeth Warren!

Can you call Jared Polis now? Ask if he agrees with Schwartz — and urge him to drop his affiliation with Third Way. Click here.

We know Jared Polis. He’s a good guy who we’ve worked with closely on issues like the public option and Internet freedom.

We don’t believe he agrees with Third Way’s “outrageous” attack on Elizabeth Warren.

But if Polis disagrees, he cannot remain silent. He needs to do the right thing today.

Call his office. Ask Jared to join Rep. Schwartz in condemning the attacks on Warren — and urge him to drop his affiliation with Third Way immediately.

Polling shows Warren’s ideas are popular in red, purple, and blue states. In fact, expanding Social Security is popular by 61% to 20% in Colorado!

That’s why the corporations that fund Third Way feel threatened.

Yesterday, we generated national headlines after 60,000 of us demanded that Third Way disclose its Wall Street donors. (You can sign the petition to Third Way here.)

Today, we need to continue standing up for our values. We can’t let the corporate bullies win.

Call Jared Polis here.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
