Reacting to the controversy over Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul’s views on civil rights, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) had a message for journalists today, the Daily Caller reports: “If I were you guys I’d give him a little leeway. He just got elected. It’s a tough thing for him to get in the middle of this cauldron.”
Hatch continued to a group of reporters, “He led a tremendous campaign. He feels very deeply.”
