Tea Party candidate in the Louisiana Senate race, Rob Maness, compares America during the Obama presidency to his old truck in a new television ad.
“My truck reminds me of our country under Obama: running on empty, needs a tune-up and a good wash,” Maness says in the ad, while washing the truck he has driven through every parish in Louisiana.
Maness says that “Washington politicians can’t fix our problems or our trucks.”
“As Louisiana’s senator, I’ll always put Louisiana over Washington, and I’l make Obamacare roadkill,” he says in the ad.
Maness lags in the polls behind Republican Rep. Bill Cassidy and incumbent Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu, but Tea Party groups have continued to support him. Though Maness is a long-shot candidate, he could pull votes from Cassidy in the state’s jungle primary, leading to a December run-off election.
