Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) on Wednesday said he would support legislation that would let undocumented immigrants pay in-state tuition rates, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Scott backs a state senate proposal that keep public universities from raising tuition rates above standards set by the Florida legislature.
“I want tuition to be lower,” Scott said. “It’s unbelievable how much tuition has gone up.”
Republican Gov. Chris Christie (R) also backed a New Jersey law that lets undocumented residents pay in-state tuition.
