The FBI is investigating “all angles” of the way a mass shooter who opened fire on a gay nightclub in Orlando early Sunday morning could be connected to terror groups, an FBI official said in a news conference.

An FBI official was asked if the shooter, who killed approximately 20 people and wounded dozens of others, was connected to Jihadist terror groups.

“At this time we’re looking at all angles right now,” the official said, reported ABC News.

“We do have suggestions that that individual may have leanings towards that, that particular ideology,” the official reportedly said. “But right now we can’t say definitively so we’re still running everything around.”

The FBI reportedly also said that the shooter was “organized and well-prepared” and that he is “not from this area.” The Associated Press reported that the shooter was armed with an assault-type rifle and a handgun. The shooter opened fire and held hostages before ultimately dying in a shootout with SWAT officers.
