As pressure mounts for Donald Trump to step aside, the Republican presidential nominee told the Washington Post on Saturday that he would “never withdraw.”

“I’d never withdraw. I’ve never withdrawn in my life,” Trump told the Post Saturday.. “No, I’m not quitting this race. I have tremendous support.”

Trump had been scheduled to appear with House Speaker Paul Ryan in Wisconsin Saturday, but after a video of Trump crudely describing how he seduced women surfaced, Ryan announced Trump would no longer be joining him at the event.

On Saturday, Trump remained at his apartment in New York City as a barrage of criticism mounted against him.

In the interview with the Post, Trump said “people are calling and saying, ‘Don’t even think about doing anything else but running.”

“You have to see what’s going on. The real story is that people have no idea the support. I don’t know how that’s going to boil down but people have no idea the support,” Trump said.

Trump added that “I’ve been here before, I’ll tell ya, in life. I understand life and how you make it through. You go through things. I’ve been through many. It’s called life. And it’s always interesting.”
