Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy on Monday showered Fox News host Sean Hannity with praise for supporting him in his standoff against the federal government.

“He is my hero and he supported me and this movement and I appreciate and love him for it. Support him 100 percent,” Bundy said on Alex Jones’ radio show.

Jones, also a big supporter of Bundy, prompted the praise by discussing how surprised he was that the Fox host backed Bundy.

“I want to commend Sean Hannity because he has been really bad on a lot of issues but he has a lot of courage doing the right thing here. So I appreciate him being supportive of this,” Jones said.

Bundy’s refusal to pay grazing fees to the federal government led to a standoff between his supporters and the Bureau of Land Management. Since the government backed off from Bundy and his fellow anti-government activists, the rancher has called for a movement to “disarm the federal bureaucrats.”

Hannity has egged Bundy on, suggesting that the government and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) are planning a raid on the Bundy ranch.

On Monday, Bundy told Jones that he’s not looking for a “civil war.”

“We just want the big government to calm down here, and we’ll work things out,” he said. “We’re not even negotiating with big government. We’re not going to negotiate with BLM. We’re only going to back up and strengthen our county sheriff and hope he does his job. And that’s where our Constitution puts us.”
