CPB announced it could no longer manage a federal severe weather grant program.

“People are becoming more loyal to their political party than to the office that they hold,” Georgetown Law professor David Super said of congressional Republicans’ willingness to cede their authority to the executive branch.

The measure would slash funding for NPR, PBS and foreign aid.

“The rescissions package has a big problem — nobody really knows what program reductions are in it,” Sen. Susan Collins said.
