Donald Trump leads by three points in the latest North Carolina poll of likely voters from Suffolk University.

North Carolina polls have intermittently showed Clinton and Trump leading, and the state is currently a tossup on TPM’s Electoral Scoreboard.

Trump comes out ahead of Hillary Clinton, 44-41, with Libertarian Gary Johnson following at 4 percent.

The last poll of North Carolina, released early this month from CBS/YouGov, showed a four-point lead for Clinton, 46-42, with Johnson at 4 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 2 percent. Suffolk had not previously polled North Carolina on general election preference.

The Suffolk University poll was conducted via live telephone interview from Sept. 5-7 among 500 likely North Carolina voters, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percent.

TPM’s PollTracker Average for the election in North Carolina shows a tossup, with Clinton leading Trump, 44.5 to 43.7.
