Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) regains a slight advantage over Democratic challenger Katie McGinty in the latest Quinnipiac poll of the U.S. Senate race for Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania’s Senate race has been closely followed because of its significance to Democrats hoping to take the U.S. Senate majority position. The state is currently a tossup on TPM’s Senate Scoreboard.
Toomey leads McGinty by one point, 46-45, among likely Pennsylvania voters.
The current senator retook the lead since Quinnipiac’s August poll of the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania, where McGinty led by three points, 47-44.
The Quinnipiac Poll surveyed 778 Pennsylvania likely voters over the phone from Aug. 29-Sept. 7, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.
TPM’s PollTracker Average for Pennsylvania shows a tossup, with Toomey leading McGinty, 42.5 to 41.8.
Correction: This post originally misidentified Toomey as North Carolina’s senator.
Headline needs a redo, FYI.
Or at least it did at one time.
