Real estate mogul and presidential candidate Donald Trump’s rhetoric may be propelling him to the top of the GOP field, but is definitely alienating Hispanic voters, a new national poll released Thursday has found.

The new national poll from Univision showed 79 percent of Hispanic voters found Trump’s comments about Mexicans and other immigrants to be offensive. Furthermore, 32% of respondents said they thought Trump’s anti-Latino comments were representative of the entire Republican party.

When matched against the leading Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, the poll found 70 percent of Hispanic voters would vote for Clinton while 16 percent would vote for Trump.

Ninety-two percent of voters surveyed said they were very likely to vote in the 2016 election.

Despite his earlier comments that Mexicans were “criminals,” “drug dealers,” and “rapists,” Trump told NBC News on July 8 that he could win the Latino vote through his “great relationship with Mexican people.”

“They love me, I love them. And I’ll tell you something, if I get the nomination, I’ll win the Latino vote,” Trump said.

This poll comes after two national polls put Trump and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush as the top candidates among GOP voters.

The bipartisan survey was conducted by Bendixen & Amandi and The Tarrance Group among 1,400 registered Hispanic voters. The poll was conducted from June 12 to June 25 and again from July 7 to 13 in English and Spanish. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.62 percent.

Glad to see that Trump is highlighting perfectly the real GOP attitude to Latinos. Despite their attempts to trick them.

  2. I suppose one could draw the conclusion Trump is delusional and thinks the world is as he wants it to be. Not a good set of traits for a POTUS.
