A new statewide poll out of Indiana shows Hillary Clinton with a narrow lead over Bernie Sanders in the May 3 Democratic primary.
The survey of 500 likely voters is a first for the state and has Clinton leading Sanders by 3 points, 48 percent to 45 percent. According to the poll, Sanders’ advantage comes from “first time” and “occasional” voters, while Clinton leads Sanders among loyal party voters.
The poll was commissioned by WTHR and Howey Politics Indiana and was conducted by Public Opinion Strategies between April 18 and April 21.
The margin of error was 4.5 percentage points.
