Democrat Deborah Ross leads incumbent Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) by two points in a new poll of the U.S. Senate race in North Carolina from Bloomberg Politics.

The race is currently a tossup on TPM’s Senate Scoreboard and is important in Democrats’ quest to take the Senate majority.

Ross leads by two points in the Bloomberg poll, 46-44, among likely North Carolina voters.

Burr held the lead in a mid-September Fox News poll, ahead of the former North Carolina state representative by six points, 43-37, among the state’s likely voters.

The Bloomberg Politics poll was conducted Sept. 29-Oct. 2 by Selzer & Company among 805 likely North Carolina voters, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.

TPM’s PollTracker Average for the U.S. Senate election in North Carolina shows a tossup, with Ross leading Burr, 45.7 to 44.1.
