Hillary Clinton holds a single-point lead among likely voters in the latest installment of the nationwide Ipsos/Reuters tracking poll.

The poll shows Clinton ahead, 40-39, among likely voters nationally.

When third-party candidates are added, Clinton and Trump tie at 39 percent, with Libertarian Gary Johnson following at 8 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 2 percent.

Last week’s Ipsos/Reuters poll showed Clinton ahead by two points, 40-38, in both the head-to-head and four-way matchups.

The Ipsos/Reuters tracking poll was conducted Sept. 8-12 among 1,127 likely voters surveyed nationally, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percent.

TPM’s PollTracker Average shows Clinton leading Trump, 44.2 to 41.1.

  1. I do believe that Clinton has a problem with overconfidence. Maybe this poll will wipe that smirk off her face. Sorry, but someone had to say it. She doesn’t help herself with her condescension.

  2. Your laser-like focus on your biases is duly noted.

  3. Trump: From my doctor tells me, Hillary will be bedridden in few days and probably die before this election. This is all moot at this point. I want her to live to see her humiliation.

  4. The state of the status of women in the United States has been confirmed to me. I am profoundly sorry–speaking for the other gender–for the unfairness of it all.

I am from one of the more chauvinistic cultures in this hemisphere…and I have never looked at Hill as anything other than a competent woman. Maybe the idea that she is “condescending” WILL doom her…doom her in a land where a monster like Trump can be seen as an alternative…a land in which her confidence (which in a male would be celebrated**) is seen as “condescending”

    DIOS MIO!!

** Barack Obama, after the first debate in 2012–a debate in which all the cable talking heads crowed that Romney won–calmly said to his supporters, “I got this.” I guess HE would be called “condescending” too. Or maybe an uppity n-word.
