Pennsylvania Senate Race Tied In New Poll

Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) and Democratic challenger Katie McGinty are tied in a new Monmouth University poll of the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania.

Toomey and McGinty, a former Bill Clinton administration official, are locked at 46 percent among likely voters, with Libertarian Edward Clifford following at 3 percent.

McGinty led the race when Monmouth last polled on the U.S. Senate race in August, 45-40, with Clifford at 6 percent.

The Monmouth University poll was conducted Sept. 30-Oct. 3 among 402 likely Pennsylvania voters, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percent.

TPM’s PollTracker Average for the U.S. Senate Election in Pennsylvania shows McGinty leading Toomey, 44.4 to 41.4.
