Incumbent Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) holds a six-point lead over Democratic challenger Gov. Maggie Hassan in the latest poll of the U.S. Senate race in New Hampshire, from Suffolk University/Boston Globe.
Ayotte leads the race over current New Hampshire Governor Hassan, 47-41, with Libertarian candidate Brian Chabot at 3 percent and Independent candidate Aaron Day at 1 percent.
A recent poll from Monmouth University showed just a two-point lead for Ayotte, 47-45, with Chabot at 2 percent.
The Suffolk poll also showed Republican candidate Chris Sununu ahead in the race to fill Hassan’s leadership in the state, leading Democrat Colin Van Ostern 40-36, with Libertarian Max Abramson polling at 2 percent.
The Suffolk University/Boston Globe poll was conducted via live interview from Oct. 3-5 among 500 likely New Hampshire voters, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percent.
TPM’s PollTracker Average for the U.S. Senate election in New Hampshire shows Ayotte leading Hassan, 48.1 to 44.1.
I never understand New Hampshire. It’s like it got lost and headed north when it thought it was going down river.
I don’t get why Republicans tout Ayotte as a leader and star. She’s done nothing noteworthy and takes the follower role on every issue. She is one of their token women legislators, I suppose.
