Allies of President Donald Trump reportedly want to raise millions for their crusade against journalists.
According to a Tuesday Axios report, pro-Trump conservatives are trying to raise $2 million to fund their mission to gather damaging information on reporters and editors from major outlets, such as the New York Times and Washington Post.
The New York Times reported last week that the President’s allies were compiling dossiers based on journalists’ old posts on social media and public comments in order to undermine the “Fake News” Trump whines about virtually every day.
This new effort seems to be a more formal offshoot of the looser endeavor to dig up embarrassing or potentially professional damaging social media posts from journalists.
Why doesn’t the Department of Homeland Security just award a few grants to fund that? Article 2 of the Constitution explicitly says Trump can ‘suggest’ that in times of a threat to his personal or political security.
actually, it seems to be another scam to separate Trump supporters from their cash.
The slippery slope of fascism…
Journalists are private citizens so who cares. Now if he was talking about self-appointed pundits telling others how to live then maybe but most them work at Faux.
Oh, they’ll raise it alright. And no one will ever know from whom the money came.
